Thank you for sharing your experiences. I would suggest to have 2-factor authentication for everything - if social media is being used. Also, we should and must keep a complex password for the emails you use for the banks.
I found a site (shared below) where we can check if our phone numbers and email ids are compromised due to logging in some apps. I found one of my mail id may or may not be compromised.
