As a kid growing up in a middle-class household in India, I barely got any pocket money to spend on toys or devices that the other rich kids at school would use.

In fact, I barely had a concept of money since whenever I would ask for a toy, I would be told to read books as it would make me wise. So I started reading comic books.

There, I was just fascinated by seeing how much money Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark had, as they could buy anything and everything.

I imagined that all the wealthy people spent their money in casinos, drove flashy cars, and owned billion-dollar technology. Hence, that was the definition of rich that I knew.

I also thought that people who were rich could only become rich because they acquired the wealth from their parents. I have seen people around me; several of my friends’ parents inherited wealth. Some people are simply born into wealth and privilege.

As I grew older, I realized all these were true, but there’s more to it. The majority must work hard and make smart financial decisions to obtain wealth. I mean, we all know that now, but back then, it took me a while.

They invested in the right stocks, started businesses, and made wise financial choices that helped them accumulate wealth over time.

However, the journey to creating wealth is not always an easy one, and it often requires a great deal of patience, discipline, and hard work.

Wealth is not just Money

I learned the hard way that wealth is not just about money but also about the experiences, knowledge, and relationships that one acquires along the way.

Building strong relationships and networks is a valuable source of wealth, as they provide access to opportunities, resources, and support that can help one achieve their goals.
