I understand what the orgs are intending to do, but for me personally, working from my home I had saved a lot of time.

I usually live in a different city from where my parents reside in, so the last year, my father had a stroke and it was quite a difficult time for my family. When the WFH ended, I had to go back, no matter how hard I tried to tell my org, of course, they had extended my stay at home but eventually, I had to move out. But the rules are applicable to all.

Now, the org shows us the data that we are more productive if working from the office - that may be true. But if you see on individual basis, I and along with many people save hours of time WFH instead of commuting and getting stuck in traffic. Yeah, the orgs around the world wouldn't care but this is indeed the reality.
