I believe the government won't let this happen because it has become “too big to fail,” in my opinion. Just like Samsung and what it means to South Korea, Adani's conglomerate has a lot at stake.
I am confident that some allegations in the report are true, but they state in one of their points that the audit team consisted of only 11 people. So what? You see, scams can even happen at auditing firms with hundreds of people. The Hindenburg's ultimate motto is to earn money, and they claim to expose scams and fraud, which are more or less always money-driven. They can write 400 pages of claims.
I am just hopeful that the people who invested their hard-earned money should not lose any sleep. If there is really a scam that will hurt the economy, then the government as well as the dedicated agencies should intervene to stop the potential disaster.
